Strap in and get ready for the jaw-dropping Top Gun: Maverick, blazing onto our open-air big screen, waterside at the beautiful Carsington Water near Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The biggest cinema smash hit in recent years, the movie picks up the story of Tom Cruise’s Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell who, after more than 30 years as a crack naval aviator, returns to Top Gun to train an elite team of graduates, including the son of his former wingman, Goose. Ghosts from the past come back to haunt him, and he and his team must prepare for their most dangerous mission yet. Spectacular aerial sequences and heart-pounding action combine to bring 80s classic Top Gun roaring up to date in this new adventure. It’s time to buzz the tower all over again!

Seating Types: Premium Deckchair Seats – deckchairs in premium positions close to the screen. Bring Your Own Seat Adult – age 16 and over, please bring your own low-backed camping chairs, picnic rugs, deckchairs or similar. Bring Your Own Seat Concession – under 16s, students, military and emergency services staff (relevant ID is required on the night)

Food and Drink: Hot food, drinks and snacks will be available at the show, including hot dogs, nachos, cheesy chips and paninis, plus homemade cakes, sweets and ice creams. A choice of beers, ciders, wine, prosecco, gin and Pimms will also be on sale, plus hot drinks and soft drinks. You are also welcome to bring your own picnics, including food and soft drinks, but (due to licensing rules) please don’t bring your own alcohol to the show. Usual licensing rules apply, no alcohol to be drunk by or supplied to under 18s. Please do not bring glasses or glass bottles to the event, only plastic and cans.

Parking: the site operates an ANPR parking system. There is a special price of £3 from 6pm for anyone attending the event, please pay cash at the box office when you check-in, your registration number will then be added to the system. Please bring the correct change, follow the signs and park in the area reserved for the cinema event. If you wish to pay by card, you can pay at one of the machines on exit, however this will be charged at our normal parking rate (£3.50 for up to 2 hours, £6 for 2-4 hours and £7 for the full day).

Other Information: under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. The film is rated 12A. Please respect the venue and use the bins provided or take your litter home after the screening.

Weather policy: screenings go ahead in all but worst weathers. Only if there’s heavy, prolonged rain or high winds forecast will the screening be postponed or cancelled. No refunds will be given unless the screening is cancelled. Umbrellas are permitted in the screening area until the film is about to begin, but must then be put away so that those behind you can see the screen.
